GNYHA is sharing a spreadsheet checklist for hospital pandemic planning to facilitate your response to a medical surge associated with widespread transmission of COVID-19. Hospitals are encouraged to review these recommendations and use the tool as a starting point for operational planning. The recommendations are not intended to replace any existing or future regulatory requirements for health care facilities, or any specific local, state, or Federal guidance for COVID-19 response.
The COVID-19 pandemic planning checklist was developed by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and based on previous guidance developed by GNYHA for the 2009 H1N1 pandemic. The recommendations also incorporate recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Health and Human Services regarding the current COVID-19 outbreak. The checklist includes all necessary elements to support an effective response and that are already components of hospital emergency management programs.
