Issue Brief: The Interstate Medical License Compact and New York State Shield Laws

The GNYHA issue brief “The Interstate Medical License Compact and New York State Shield Laws” addresses concerns that certain provisions in the Compact legislation could diminish protections under New York’s “shield” laws, which were enacted to protect reproductive health care providers. The issue brief sets forth GNYHA’s view that while New York’s joining the Compact would not have such an impact, minor legislative changes could address such concerns.
